The City of Dallas commemorated renaming a stretch of South Lamar Street between Interstate 30 and South-Central Expressway to Botham Jean Boulevard.
Botham Jean, a 26 year old accountant with PWC, was shot and killed in his home on Sept. 6, 2018 by off-duty Dallas Police officer Amber Guyger, who entered Jean’s apartment believing it was her own. A year later, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison for murder.
The newly renamed Botham Jean Boulevard encompasses about four miles of Lamar Street, including the apartment building where Botham lived, and The Jack Evans Dallas Police Headquarters.
